Ruby L. McCann, 87, of Howe, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
She worked as a seamstress at Shadow Interiors in Shipshewana and had lived most of her life in LaGrange County. She spent many years on Big Long Lake.
She was born on October 29, 1922 in Dekalb County to William and Dessie (Whitman) Diehm. On February 11, 1939 she married Walter E. McCann in Waterloo, IN. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1991.
Surviving is a daughter, Alice D. Walker of Nancy, KY; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Walter L. "Butch" and Sharon McCann of Howe and Daniel J. McCann of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Rice of Centreville, MI; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Garcile Brandeberry of Corunna, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband, a son, Larry J. McCann in Sept. 1994; three sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St., with the Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Burial will take place at Brighton Cemetery, Howe, IN.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 6th.
