John P. Cummins, 63, of Howe, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence.
He retired in March of 2010 from Morgan Olson Corp. in Sturgis, Michigan after 38 yrs of service. He was a US Army Veteran and has lived in the area since 1972. John was a member of the Calvary Chapel in Stroh and was a Past-President of the LaGrange County Food and Clothes Basket.
He was born December 3, 1946 in Princeton, Ind., to Glenn W. and Rosemary (Burns) Cummins. His father survives in Vincennes, Ind.
On December 26, 1970 he married Margaret “Maggie” (Juday). She survives in Howe, Ind.
Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Colleen Rubley of Bronson, Mich.; Megan and Dean Smith of Lafayette, IN; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Cassy Cummins of Wolcottville, IN, eight grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Michael Jackson of Franklin, Tenn.; Marie and Jerry Fuller and Helena Cummins all of Vincennes, Ind.; six brothers and sisters-in-law, G. Edward and Nancy Cummins of Indianapolis, Ind.; Michael and Charlotte Cummins of Ocala, Fla.; William and Jessica Cummins of Powder Springs, GA; Gregory and Bridget Cummins of Colorado Springs, CO., Philip and Michelle Cummins and Kevin and Missy Cummins all of Vincennes, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Brighton Chapel in Howe, IN. with the Rev. Gary Rifenburg officiating. Burial will take place in Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Howe, Ind.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 28th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St, LaGrange, Ind.
Memorials may be directed to the LaGrange County Food and Clothes Basket or Gospel for Asia or Howe Fire Department.
