A. Duane Mireley, 84, of Howe, IN, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange, IN.
In 1927, Mr. Mireley moved from Illinois to Howe, IN. He was a farmer and also had worked for 25 years at Campbell's Mushroom Farm in Howe. He was a member of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church, LaGrange County Farm Bureau, and was active in the LaGrange County 4-H Association where he was a former 4-H Director and a former Superintendent of both the Swine Barn and the 4-H Auction.
Duane was born on July 11, 1925 in Harman, IL to Lester H. and Rebecca (Hess) Mireley. On January 28, 1951 in LaGrange, IN he married Idonna R. Boggs; Mrs. Mireley preceded him in death on December 29, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Ron Kauffman of Howe and Laura and Dennis Kratz of LaGrange; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Connie Mireley and Kenneth and Cindy Mireley all of Howe; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alberta Seelig of LaGrange.
Preceding him in death also were his parents; two sisters, Ruth Sherman and Dorothy Mireley; and a brother, William Harold Mireley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 10:00 am at LaGrange First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Danielson officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Howe.
Visitation will be from 2-5 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Memorials may be made to LaGrange First United Methodist Church or LaGrange County 4-H Association.
